At present, the representative products of green transformers that have been applied in China include vegetable insulating oil transformers, three-dimensional coil core transformers, silicone rubber transformers, amorphous alloy three-dimensional coil core open dry-type transformers, etc.
Green transformer is one of the key equipment to improve energy efficiency
There are about 17 million transformers in operation in our country, with a total capacity of about 11 billion kVA. Transformer loss accounts for about 40% of the power loss of transmission and distribution, and improving the energy efficiency of transformers is of great significance to the improvement of energy efficiency in China.

These are areas where transformers are heavily used, and green transformers will help improve energy efficiency and reduce carbon emissions in these industries.
Green transformer is an important equipment in the new energy system

The conditions of new energy power generation are special, with higher requirements for safety and energy efficiency, higher demand for fire prevention and explosion prevention, and more attention to environmental protection. At present, green transformers have been successfully applied in new energy projects such as photovoltaic power generation, wind power generation, offshore wind power generation, and electric vehicle charging, and have achieved good application results.

Compared with traditional transformers, green transformers have huge performance advantages in terms of resource attributes, energy efficiency attributes, environmental protection attributes, and product attributes. The carbon emission of vegetable insulating oil (transformer) in the whole life cycle is only 1/64 of that of mineral oil (Note: The calculation of data from the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) is based on: 1 transformer contains 1890 liters of oil/30 years of use). The degradation rate of vegetable insulating oil is more than 98%, which will not cause harm to the environment and human body. The risk of fire and explosion is much lower than that of mineral oil transformers, and its ignition point and lightning are 2 times lower than those of mineral oil. According to the data in the National Key Energy-saving and Low-carbon Technology Promotion Catalogue of the National Development and Reform Commission, it is estimated that in the next five years, the total amount of insulating oil used in transformers will reach 600000 tons each year, which can form an annual carbon emission reduction 950000 tCO based on 50% of the promotion proportion of vegetable insulating oil.2.
Silicone rubber dry-type transformer is a major breakthrough and independent innovation in China's transformer green technology. The material recovery rate is 99%, the production energy consumption is only 10% of that of regular transformer, the combustible substance is less than 2%, the noise can be reduced to <55dB <45 dB, the long-term overload is allowed to be 20%, and the maintenance is free. According to the new standard of "GB20052-2020", the no-load loss of silicone rubber dry-type transformer can be reduced by 15% and the load loss can be reduced by 10% compared with the primary energy efficiency.
Compared with the traditional transformer, the noise of the three-dimensional winding core transformer can be reduced by 8dB. Due to the structural advantages, the three-dimensional coil core usually saves more than 20% of silicon steel material than the traditional laminated core. The weight of the three-dimensional coil core open dry-type transformer is only 76% of the regular laminated core transformer (silicon steel is reduced by 23%, copper is reduced by 10%, and the usage of insulating materials is greatly reduced). The three-dimensional coil core open dry-type transformer reduces the floor area by 30%.
According to the data of T/CEEIA287-2017 "Technical Parameters and Requirements for Phase Oil-immersed Amorphous Alloy Stereo-wound Core Distribution Transformer", the no-load loss of three-phase oil-immersed amorphous alloy Stereo-wound Core distribution transformer is reduced by about 50% compared with S13 silicon steel distribution transformer.
At present, different types of three-dimensional winding core dry-type transformers have been successfully operated in super high-rise buildings, new energy vehicle charging stations, marine power transformation, wind power, solar power generation and other fields. In addition, the three-dimensional coil core open dry change and vegetable oil transformer are constantly developing to large capacity and high voltage level, which will make more contributions to energy conservation and environmental protection.
